What happened

The gap between intention and implementation is the operational point. A leader can endorse agents in a survey without having selected a workflow, prepared data access, designed oversight, or measured customer and employee outcomes. Conversely, an organization may use AI in several functions without giving autonomous agents broad authority. Enterprise buyers should separate strategy statements, pilots, organization-wide availability, active use, and realized value in their reporting. Microsoft is also a vendor in this market, so its framing deserves particular care; the survey method provides scope but cannot turn expectations into adoption facts. A practical operator would identify one bounded process, document who can approve agent actions, and compare performance with the existing process.
